3 Stars OF Destiny Game Review: 3 Stars of Destiny is the latest RPG offering from Aldorlea Games, an independent French developer known for its flagship Laxius series, that includes the Laxius Power trilogy & Laxius Force. The game features the old-school Japanese-style RPG, which offers fun & lengthy quest that is both a standalone adventure & a precursor to the entire Laxius saga so old & new fans alike can enjoy it.
3 Stars OF Destiny GamePlay: In the beginning of the game, players are asked whether to select easy, normal, or hard difficulty. There are no penalties, if you choose easy difficulty, it gives players stronger characters & more frequent save points on the field. When the difficulty level is selected, players are asked to select a low, medium, or high random encounter rate. Battles are traditional turn based affairs where characters attack, use special skills, items, or defend. A welcome addition allows the player to escape from battles, which was missing in the game; Laxius Force. 3 Stars of Destiny doesn't mess. There are plenty of expansive hostile/dungeons areas where you will found yourself delightfully lost & running around in circles. Some of the dungeons even incorporate graphic adventure-style puzzle solving, which is a plus point of the game. The main point here is that the game is still challenging even if the easy mode has been selected. The game provides a main objective to follow, but the players are offered a variety of sidequests for the heroes to undertake in the game. Participating in these sidequests is a good idea because not only they bring life to the game's world & its inhabitants, but they also offer EXP and tangible rewards to the active party. Regular potentially playable characters or townspeople can give quests. In the game, speaking of playable characters, up to ten can become part of the party of heroes, & some can be easy to miss if players don't venture off the beaten path. All the quests are kept track of in the Quest Log, & characters can easily be swapped out of the 4 person active party outside of battle through the character swap screen.
