Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" Game Review: Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" is a flight simulating video game. It was developed by Games Farm and BitComposer is its publisher. It was released on 8th of July, 2011 in Europe, and in August in North America. The game is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows Microsoft. Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" is set during the 2nd World War. The game takes an unconventional approach where narrative is concerned.
Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" Story: In game, having the player as the decorated war hero, player is instead dropped into the boots of greenhorn pilot, as named Dorothy DeeDee Derbec. Since Dorothy's father, the great Guillaume Derbec, went M.I.A during the War, the young mademoiselle has pursued a nomadic life in search for the truth behind his disappearance. Now, she becomes acquainted with Tommy Carter, an ex-RAF pilot and old friend of Guillaume, who takes Dorothy under his wing. They both travel the world picking up odd jobs just to keep themselves in the sky. But when war breaks out, they are inevitably drawn in.
Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" Plot: During the 6 hours long campaign, you'll be flitting from country to country & routing out the Nazis, Dorothy soon becoming a partisan of the allied forces. There are some interesting twists, the narrative acts as filler between a prolonged chain of repetitive dogfights for the majority of the time. Though characters eventually begin to development. The game is consist of seven campaigns in total, each is situated in distinct locations during the 2nd World War, beginning with Tobruk, Libya before moving through Europe & finally concluding in Berlin with the fall of Third Reich.
Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" Gameplay: Beside ground targets, player will also be delivering payloads & locating specific landmarks as well as blundering his way through Secret Wars stealth sections. The game makes use of 4 individual control schemes, 2 designated to the Dualshock 3, the others use PlayStation Move technology. There is an option to enable simulator controls which allows greater freedom of movement though sacrificing precision & comfort in the process. If player selects the Move simulator pattern, it effectively transforms player's controller into a flight stick, however, there is no calibration option or way of adjusting sensitivity which is a real let down.
Air Conflicts "Secret Wars" Sounds: Sounds effects are not bad, though they will not turn any heads either. It is a common practice in video games for voice actors to assume more than one role, but having the same actor voice both halves of the same conversation, alternating between accents is quite special.
