It has been developed by British games developer named Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. The gae is available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Android, webOS Xbox 360, Wii, Windows Phone and iOS. The Wii version has been developed by Exient Entertainment. Hot Pursuit is the 16th Need for Speed title. The game was released in the month of November, 2010 with digital download versions which had been released within December, 2010.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit GamePlay: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit's gameplay is set in the Seacrest County. Seacrest County is an open world and features over 160 km of open road, that is 4 times larger than that of Burnout Paradise. In game, the players are able to compete in several types of races. Players are also able to compete online except in the Wii version, that includes additional game modes including Hot Pursuit, Race and Interceptor. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit features a new social interaction system called "Autolog". It is a network that connects friends for the head-to-head races and also compares player stats for the competition. The game also features paid downloadable content in the form of new race, new cars, & pursuit events, and new trophies. Hot Pursuit requires players to be either a cop or a racer and the game features a full career mode for both the roles. The relationship between the racers and cops is described as A dog chasing down a rabbit. The police is being more powerful while the racers are more faster. Each side has distinct power-ups including calling for radar jamming and roadblocks. The single player campaign is somewhere between twelve and fifteen hours long, with lots of replay value. The game features both multiplayer and single player game modes with upto 8 players. All vehicles that are added in the game are licensed real world SUVs and cars. Most of the vehicles are available in both police and racer, but a few are exclusive to each side. The Porsche 918 Spyder has been added exclusively in the Hot Pursuit. But the sad thing is that there is no car tuning and customization.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Game's Soundtrack: The Hot Pursuit's soundtrack features a general track list as is seen in EA Black Box Need for Speed games including Most Wanted, Undercover and Carbon rather than a scored soundtrack as seen in Shift and ProStreet. Custom soundtracks can be added to the game by players, it means any music stored on the players hard drive can be easily add up during gameplay via the console's system menu. Several categories of licensed music are also available for the game's racing, the photo mode and menu screens.
