Fieldrunners 2 Game Review: Fieldrunners 2013 is the sequel to the tower defense game called "Fieldrunners", made by Subatomic Studios. It was launched in 2012 as an exclusive iOS title, particularly designed for mobile devices like the iPod Touch and iPhone. This game is the 3rd release from developer Subatomic Studios.
Fieldrunners 2 Gameplay: Fieldrunners 2012 offers twenty-five levels with four separate backgrounds and zones. Gamers have to select at most six different types of weapon and three types of consumptive object at the beginning of each level. This game also offers three levels of difficulty for the gamers, which include heroic, tough and casual modes. Just like any other tower defense title, gamers then choose a tower and tag it down on the map, wait for the opponents' to start falling, and obtain more cash points to construct more towers. Gamers lose the game when the numbers of escaped enemies comes to twenty. If gamers are victorious, the game will award players with a single star (in case of casual mode), two stars (in the tough mode), or three-stars (for the heroic mode). Gamers can are at the liberty to continue playing in the endless gaming mode after crossing each level. No matter gamers pass the level or otherwise, the game will grant them a certain number of coins according to their in-game performance. Gamers can utilize the coins and star points for buying more powerful towers with greater defenses. Fieldrunners two offers us twenty-five different types of weapons, and five types of items. Each of them has specific effect, weakness and range. Fieldrunners 2012, in comparison to Fieldrunners, has a few major improvements. The variety of enemies and the towers increases thrice in Fieldrunners 2. Fieldrunners 2 supports mobile devices like the iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad systems (with the inclusion of the latest iPad and iPhone containing Retina display). One of the notable improvements is the induction of a path marker. In the actual game, the unlimited stream of fieldrunners used to follow a very particular path. They would usually march straight until they collide with something. In Fieldrunners 2, the tiny motorcycles, tanks and the soldiers, will stream across the field in a more life-like way, constantly adjusting their path of movement depending on the location the towers. Now they shall no longer walk straight into the center of a flamethrower. Most of the twenty-five stages are conventional tower defense missions, where gamers quickly construct towers to repel waves of enemy troops. The main primary task for the gamers is to survive at least sixty waves of enemy attacks with a restriction of twenty escaped enemies. However, a few of the maps task the gamers with protecting multiple routes, while other ingeniously enables the gamers to actually create mazes of death with their defense towers. There are also Sudden Death levels, where the game has to survive a never ending parade of tiny enemies for a specific amount of time, and also puzzle maps that require the gamers to guide enemies through deadly things like "laser barriers" on an open battlefield.
