Plot summary: The Spencer Mansion's vault is robbed, & the Bayport Police call on brother detectives Frank & Joe Hardy for help. The teen sleuths soon find themselves in major criminal investigation that takes them out of their hometown Bayport, & into New York City. Frank & Joe find themselves embroiled in a drama of sinister proportions, & they begin to suspect recent theft is somehow linked to something from the past.
