Planescape Torment Game Review: Planescape Torment is a role playing video game. It was developed for Microsoft Windows by Black Isle Studios. The game was released on 12th of December, 1999 by Interplay Entertainment. The game features locations from the Multiverse of Planescape which is an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons fantasy campaign setting. The engine of the game has a modified version of the Infinity Engine. Planescape Torment is primarily story driven, combat is given less prominence. The Nameless One who is the protagonist, is an Immortal, has lived many lives but forgotten all about them, even his own name. The game focuse on his journey through the Sigil City and other planes in order to reclaim his memories of the previous lives. Several characters may join The Nameless One in the game on his journey. Most of these characters have been influenced by The Nameless One actions in some way and have encountered him in the past. Planescape Torment did not receive a Significant commercial success but received widespread praise of critics. The game has since become a cult classic. Planescape Torment was lauded for its Immersive dialogues, for obscure Planescape and relatively dark setting, and for the protagonist's unique character, which shirked many role playing games' characteristics. Planescape Torment was considered to be the best role-playing game of the year 1999, continues to receive attention of the players long after its release.
Planescape Torment GamePlay: The game is built on Infinity Engine, by which the player is presented with a 2 dimensional world. In this 2 dimensional world, player characters are controlled. The rules of the game are based on those of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. The main object or theme of the game accomplish by The Nameless One is an immortal being on a research to learn why he cannot die. The exploration around the scenery painted can be accomplished by moving, clicking on the ground or clicking on characters and objects to interact with them. Spells and Items may be employed through a radial menu or hotkeys. Magical tattoos are an alternative to armor which can be applied to the game character and certain characters to increase their abilities.
